This tasty classic stands the test of time while capturing the attitude of Mendocino County style. Cherry aromas with hints of cinnamon and spice lead to flavors of raspberry, strawberry, and black cherry with a spicy finish.
Forty Licks Merlot has undergone changes mostly in the profile of oak aging. The Merlot vineyards have been around for a long time and are well set in the way the fruit is expressed. The oak barrels continue to improve so our selection of cooperage has become more specified to enhance the fruit and bring the volume. It’s The Stones, so it needs to be a LOUD wine. Petite Sirah will continue to be brought in a small doses to add tannin, color and length to the wine, but never so much to lose the bluesy nature of Merlot’s character.
Our great-tasting, world-class varietals are meant to be enjoyed—and shared! Just like a rock concert when 20,000 passionate fans get together and share 2 1/2 hours of magic or when you plug in your I-pod and listen to your favorite tunes, Wines That Rock is about making a connection. So, pop the cork, turn up the tunes, and enjoy the taste of Wines That Rock!
