The entire crew at Wines That Rock is beyond excited to announce our latest Rock 'n Roll themed wine - The Grateful Dead – Steal Your Face- 2009 Red Wine Blend.

Look at those beauties!  Our newest addition to the line up is a pure mix of passion & music, combined in a way that could only be brought to you by Wines That Rock. Here are some of the details:

We begin with the classic sounds of the Grateful Dead’s “Steal Your Face” and started building from there. Our award winning vineyards in Mendocino California are where the magic takes place; from the earth the grapes are nurtured in, to the packaging we use, every aspect is scrutinized; the quality of the fruit, the environmental impact and earth friendly production are paramount. Even our labels are printed on recycled paper and use soy-based ink. That’s probably why we’ve been called the “Greenest Vineyard in America”

Next, it’s over to the laboratory with winemaker Mark Beaman, where the process for making “Steal Your Face” really begins. Guided by band member’s notes, and the sound system cranking it out, Mark immerses himself with the sounds and visuals of the legendary Grateful Dead, striving to absorb the vibe of the band and contemplating how to translate it all into a bottle of wine.

Each wine we create is a reflection and interpretation of the music itself. True!

To capture the essence of the Grateful Dead, we chose to meld several varieties into one. Just as the band members would segue through various musical styles, this wine’s far reaching flavors melt seamlessly from one to the next. In honor of the Grateful Dead’s famous improvisational concerts that have brought joy to so many, this wine celebrates a bounty of diversity and freedom of experimentation.

Varietal: Red Wine Blend
Vintage: 2009
Alcohol: 14.5 %
Cooperage: 25% aged in seasoned french oak & 75% redwood tanks for 20 months.
Blend: 73.5% Syrah, 12% Petite Sirah, 7.5% Zinfandel & 7% Grenache
Tasting Notes: A distinctively unique mix of black cherries, peppered bacon with a velvety vanilla and caramel finish
Environmental Notes: Sustainable farming, 100% Green power, Eco-friendly packaging and Carbon Neutrality.

So starting right now, Grateful Dead Steal Your Face 2009 Red Wine Blend is now available online. Go get your hands on one of the first bottles off the line. It’s available in either a 3-pack, 6-pack, or a 12 bottle case.
